Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, in a family of eight children, Marc Haskell established his strong work ethic as an employee in his father’s grocery store. After earning his accounting degree at Brooklyn College, Haskell assumed a few other professional hats as a certified public accountant, an accountant for Saks Fifth Avenue and a stockbroker. While these experiences helped Haskell develop professionally, he was not fully hooked or inspired until a headhunter asked if he’d be interested in becoming Controller for the South Street Seaport. After a promotion to Chief Financial Officer and Director of Leasing and Retail Operations, Haskell thrived on the responsibility of overseeing this enormous New York City landmark.
In 1996, Haskell’s career took another turn when he became the executive vice president for The Glazier Group. In this position, Haskell had a hand in running all of The Glazier Group’s businesses including The Monkey Bar, Michael Jordan’s The Steakhouse NYC, and Strip House. After much success in this position, Haskell decided to pursue the opportunity to open his own business, like his father had done. Haskell and his current partner, Chris Siversen, discovered the space that would become Maritime Parc. Together, they took on this project, bringing it to life financially and overseeing its innovative design. As CEO of Maritime Parc, Haskell prides himself on having established a winning, tight-knit team at Maritime Parc that’s devoted to booking private events and ensuring that each one goes off without a hitch.
